The Seven
steps to successful SOPs are -

Identify the desired results, specify the function - Design
SOPs with definite results in mind; |

Write
a first draft - Gives a basis for discussion |

| 3. |
Insist on internal review - Access ideas; Builds commitment,
“buy-in” and “ownership”; |

| 4. |
External Review - Access ideas and expertise; Builds commitment
and “buy-in”; |
| |
|
| 5. |
Testing - Let someone unfamiliar with the job try to follow
the procedure; |

| 6. |
Post - In workplace; |
| |
|
| 7. |
Training
- Define the learning objective; Explain and demonstrate
both why and how each step is done; Give opportunity for
learner to practice; Observe and make key corrections; Provide
appropriate feedback; Be patient, follow-up as needed with
coaching. |
